Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved,  put on compassion, kindness,  humility,  gentleness,  and patience,

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent,  humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.


instructing his opponents with gentleness.  Perhaps God will grant them repentance  leading them to the knowledge of the truth.


Now we command and exhort such people by the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and provide for themselves.


Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.


The humble will have joy after joy in the  Lord, and the poor people will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.


For we know that our old self  , was crucified with him  so that the body ruled by sin  might be rendered powerless,  so that we may no longer be enslaved to sin,


And he told them, ‘You are the ones who justify   yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts.   For what is highly admired by people is revolting   in God’s sight.


because you have been born again   #– #not of perishable seed  but of imperishable #– #through the living and enduring word of God.


For you died,  and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ #– #I who am humble among you in person but bold towards you when absent.
