when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges  justly.

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughter and like a sheep silent before her shearers, he did not open his mouth.


So then, let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust themselves  to a faithful Creator while doing what is good.


For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.


And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that your servants may speak your word with all boldness,


There is reserved for me the crown  of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge,  will give me on that day, and not only to me, but to all those who have loved his appearing.  ,

And Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.’   , Saying this, he breathed his last.


Then I saw heaven opened,  and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True,  and with justice he judges and makes war.


not paying back evil for evil  or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing,  since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.


It is clear evidence of God’s righteous  judgement  that you will be counted worthy of God’s kingdom, for which you also are suffering,


And masters, treat your slaves the same way, without threatening  them, because you know that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favouritism  with him.


Because of your hardened and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath  for yourself in the day of wrath,  when God’s righteous judgement is revealed.


because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.’


Now Saul was still breathing threats and murder against the disciples  of the Lord. He went to the high priest


So he kept asking him questions, but Jesus did not answer him.


You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won’t the Judge of the whole earth do what is just? ’


While they were stoning Stephen, he called out, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit! ’


We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.’
