The Lord said to him: I have heard your prayer and petition you have made before me. I have consecrated this temple you have built, to put  my name there for ever;  my eyes and my heart will be there at all times.

This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask  anything according to his will, he hears us.


‘Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader  of my people, “This is what the Lord God of your ancestor David says: I have heard your prayer;  I have seen your tears. Look, I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the Lord’s temple.


so that your eyes may watch over this temple night and day, towards the place where you said, ‘My name will be there,’ and so that you may hear the prayer that your servant prays towards this place.


It is a land the Lord your God cares for. He is always watching over it  from the beginning to the end of the year.

Then do you come and stand before me in this house  that bears my name and say, ‘We are rescued, so we can continue doing all these detestable acts’?
