David left the priest Zadok and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the Lord at the high place in Gibeon
The king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there because it was the most famous high place. He offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.
So Solomon went to Jerusalem from the high place that was in Gibeon in front of the tent of meeting, and he reigned over Israel.
The tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering were at the high place in Gibeon,
and Zadok, a young valiant warrior, with 22 commanders from his ancestral family.
Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was court secretary;
but the priest Zadok, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the prophet Nathan, Shimei, Rei, and David’s royal guard , did not side with Adonijah.
