In spite of this, they rebelled and disobeyed your laws. They killed your prophets, who warned them to turn back to you, and they cursed your name.

The wicked are too proud to turn to you or even think about you.

I tried punishing you, but you refused to come back to me, and like fierce lions you killed my prophets.

When times were good, I warned you. But you ignored me, just as you have done since Israel was young.

your God. I am the LORD All-Powerful, and I warned you about the terrible things that would happen to you if you did not listen to me. You have ignored me, so now disaster will strike you. I, the LORD, have spoken.

Ezekiel, son of man, tell the people of Israel that their country is full of sin, and that I, the LORD, am furious!

Jerusalem is so full of sin and evil that I can't get it clean, even though I have tried. It will stay filthy until I let loose my fierce anger against it.

Nothing will remain of anyone who has turned away and rejected me.

Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.

So let's come near God with pure hearts and a confidence that comes from having faith. Let's keep our hearts pure, our consciences free from evil, and our bodies washed with clean water.
