The LORD All-Powerful, the God of Israel, said: I've heard Moab and Ammon insult my people and threaten their nation. And so, I swear by my very life that Moab and Ammon will end up like Sodom and Gomorrah— covered with thorn bushes and salt pits for ever. Then my people who survive will take their land.

The elder daughter named her son Moab, and he is the ancestor of the Moabites.

The younger daughter named her son Benammi, and he is the ancestor of the Ammonites.

This is a message about Moab: The towns of Ar and Kir were destroyed in a night. Moab is left in ruins!

We have heard of Moab's pride. Its people strut and boast, but without reason.

The LORD said: I gave this land to my people Israel, but enemies around it have attacked and robbed it. So I will uproot them from their own countries just as I will uproot Judah from its land.

The LORD All-Powerful, the God of Israel, told me to say to the nation of Moab: The town of Nebo is doomed; Kiriathaim will be captured and disgraced, and even its fortress will be left in ruins.

The LORD has this to say about the nation of Ammon: The people of Israel have plenty of children to inherit their lands. So why have you worshippers of the god Milcom taken over towns and land belonging to the Gad tribe?

Yes, you know their insults and their evil plans.

The LORD God said: Ezekiel, son of man, the Ammonites have insulted Israel, so condemn them and tell them I am saying: A sword is drawn, ready to slaughter; it is polished and prepared to kill as fast as lightning.

And you will finally realize that I heard you laugh at their destruction and say their land was yours to take.

that I, the LORD God, am saying: Your enemies sneered and said that you mountains belonged to them.

The LORD said: I will punish Ammon for countless crimes, and I won't change my mind. In Gilead they ripped open pregnant women, just to take the land.

The LORD said: I will punish Moab for countless crimes, and I won't change my mind. They made lime from the bones of the king of Edom.

This is how Moab and Ammon will at last be repaid for their pride— and for sneering at the nation that belongs to me, the LORD All-Powerful.

The LORD told Joshua, “It was a disgrace for my people to be slaves in Egypt, but now I have taken away that disgrace.” So the Israelites named the place Gilgal, and it still has that name.
