He is the stone that you builders thought was worthless, and now he is the most important stone of all.

This happened because of God's undeserved kindness and not because of anything they have done. It could not have happened except for God's kindness.

You are like a building with the apostles and prophets as the foundation and with Christ as the most important stone.

You are followers of the Lord, and that stone is precious to you. But it isn't precious to those who refuse to follow him. They are the builders who tossed aside the stone that turned out to be the most important one of all.

Every island ran away, and the mountains disappeared.
