Abraham let himself be circumcised to show that he had been accepted because of his faith even before he was circumcised. This makes Abraham the father of all who are acceptable to God because of their faith, even though they are not circumcised.

God treats everyone alike. He accepts people only because they have faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to Zacchaeus, “Today you and your family have been saved, because you are a true son of Abraham.

Because Noah had faith, he was warned about something that had not yet happened. He obeyed and built a boat that saved him and his family. In this way the people of the world were judged, and Noah was given the blessings that come to everyone who pleases God.

and put his Spirit in our hearts to show that we belong only to him.

and to know that I belong to him. I could not make myself acceptable to God by obeying the Law of Moses. God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ.

Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that some day you will be free from your sins.

Christ also brought you the truth, which is the good news about how you can be saved. You put your faith in Christ and were given the promised Holy Spirit to show that you belong to God.

If you follow this rule, you will belong to God's true people. God will treat you with undeserved kindness and will bless you with peace.

But the Spirit makes us sure that God will accept us because of our faith in Christ.

So if you belong to Christ, you are now part of Abraham's family, and you will be given what God has promised.

But the Scriptures say that sin controls everyone, so that God's promises will be for anyone who has faith in Jesus Christ.

And so, you should understand that everyone who has faith is a child of Abraham.

The Scriptures say that no one who has faith will be disappointed,

But people whose faith makes them acceptable to God will never ask, “Who will go up to heaven to bring Christ down?”

But Christ makes the Law no longer necessary for those who become acceptable to God by faith.

Jesus replied: I am the bread that gives life! No one who comes to me will ever be hungry. No one who has faith in me will ever be thirsty.

The locusts were told not to harm the grass on the earth or any plant or any tree. They were to punish only those people who did not have God's mark on their foreheads.

What does all this mean? It means that the Gentiles were not trying to be acceptable to God, but they found that he would accept them if they had faith.

It cannot be said that God broke his promise. After all, not all the people of Israel are the true people of God.

They answered, “We are Abraham's children! We have never been anyone's slaves. How can you say we will be set free?”

I tell you for certain that everyone who has faith in me has eternal life.

My Father wants everyone who sees the Son to have faith in him and to have eternal life. Then I will raise them to life on the last day.

Everyone who has faith in the Son has eternal life. But no one who rejects him will ever share in that life, and God will be angry with them for ever.

Many people will come from everywhere to enjoy the feast in the kingdom of heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

I told them to respect my Sabbath to show that they were my people and that I was the LORD their God.

You and your descendants are stubborn, but the LORD will make you willing to obey him and love him with all your heart and soul, and you will enjoy a long life.

This day will always serve as a reminder, both to me and to the Israelites, that I made the heavens and the earth in six days, then on the seventh day I rested and relaxed.

The blood on the houses will show me where you live, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. Then you won't be bothered by the terrible disasters I will bring on Egypt.

just as God says in the Scriptures, “Look! I am placing in Zion a stone to make people stumble and fall. But those who have faith in that one will never be disappointed.”

Their leaders come together and are now the people of Abraham's God. All rulers on earth surrender their weapons, and God is greatly praised!

But everyone who does believe him has shown that God is truthful.

There is only one God, and he accepts Gentiles as well as Jews, simply because of their faith.

But when did this happen? Was it before or after Abraham was circumcised? Of course, it was before.
