Everyone living in Israel, from the town of Dan in the north to Beersheba in the south, was safe as long as Solomon lived. Each family sat undisturbed beneath its own grapevines and fig trees.

Now, thanks to the LORD God, there is peace in my kingdom and no trouble or threat of war anywhere.

Good people will prosper like palm trees, and they will grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.

He will settle arguments between nations. They will beat their swords and their spears into rakes and shovels; they will never make war or attack one another.

Jerusalem, stand up! Shine! Your new day is dawning. The glory of the LORD shines brightly on you.

Even the smallest family will be a powerful nation. I am the LORD, and when the time comes, I will quickly do all this.

During the time of those kings, the God who rules from heaven will set up an eternal kingdom that will never fall. It will be like the stone that was cut from the mountain, but not by human hands—the stone that crushed the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold. Your Majesty, in your dream the great God has told you what is going to happen, and you can trust this interpretation.

I, the LORD, will take away war chariots and horses from Israel and Jerusalem. Bows that were made for battle will be broken. I will bring peace to nations, and your king will rule from sea to sea. His kingdom will reach from the River Euphrates across the earth.

But for you who honour my name, victory will shine like the sun with healing in its rays, and you will jump around like calves at play.

He will rule the people of Israel for ever, and his kingdom will never end.”
