The LORD always does right, and he has set me free from the ropes of those cruel people.

I will judge each of you for what you've done. So stop sinning, or else you will certainly be punished.

Everyone in Jerusalem had promised to be loyal to Babylonia, and so none of them will believe that this could happen to them. But Babylonia's king will remind them of their sinful ways and warn them of their coming captivity.

Tell them that as surely as I am the living LORD God, I don't like to see wicked people die. I enjoy seeing them turn from their sins and live. So if the Israelites want to live, they must stop sinning and turn back to me.

An axe is ready to cut the trees down at their roots. Any tree that doesn't produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into a fire.

So turn to God! Give up your sins, and you will be forgiven.

I will take revenge on my hateful enemies. I will sharpen my sword and let it flash like lightning.
