listen from your home in heaven and forgive them. The people of Israel are your servants, so teach them to live right. And please send rain on the land you promised them for ever.

You water all its fields and level the lumpy ground. You send showers of rain to soften the soil and help the plants sprout.

Wherever your footsteps touch the earth, a rich harvest is gathered.

You take care of the earth and send rain to help the soil grow all kinds of crops. Your rivers never run dry, and you prepare the earth to produce much grain.

You treat us like pet doves, but they ill-treat us. Don't keep forgetting us and letting us be fed to those wild animals.

It's true God struck the rock and water gushed out like a river, but can he give his people bread and meat?”

The LORD gives strength to those who are weary.

and Aaron and said, “Why do you think you're so much better than anyone else? We're part of the LORD's holy people, and he's with all of us. What makes you think you're the only ones in charge?”

The blind are now able to see, and the lame can walk. People with leprosy are being healed, and the deaf can hear. The dead are raised to life, and the poor are hearing the good news.

God gives the hungry good things to eat, and sends the rich away with nothing.

Then, standing there in front of the place of worship, you must pray: My ancestor was homeless, an Aramean who went to live in Egypt. There were only a few in his family then, but they became great and powerful, a nation of many people.

Don't be bossy to those people who are in your care, but set an example for them.

You lift the poor and homeless out of the rubbish dump and give them places of honour in royal palaces. You set the world on foundations, and they belong to you.
