You are faithful, and I trust you because you rescued me.

You protected me from death and kept me from stumbling, so that I would please you and follow the light that leads to life.

Your advice has been my guide, and later you will welcome me in glory.

Your love for me is so great that you protected me from death and the grave.

No one can escape the power of death and the grave.

Should I, the LORD, rescue you from death and the grave? No! I call death and the grave to strike you like a plague. I refuse to show mercy.

Then they sang a new song, “You are worthy to receive the scroll and open its seals, because you were killed. And with your own blood you bought for God people from every tribe, language, nation, and race.
