The LORD has chosen everyone who is faithful to be his very own, and he answers my prayers.

All who belong to the LORD, show how you love him. The LORD protects the faithful, but he severely punishes everyone who is proud.

If you obey the LORD, he will watch over you and answer your prayers.

I speak words of wisdom, and my thoughts make sense.

“Call my followers together! They offered me a sacrifice, and we made an agreement.”

When I pray, LORD God, my enemies will retreat, because I know for certain that you are with me.

You, LORD, heard my crying, and those hateful people had better leave me alone.

Don't trust in violence or depend on dishonesty or rely on great wealth.

But if you do go with us, everyone will know that you are pleased with your people and with me. That way, we will be different from the rest of the people on earth.”

You did not choose me. I chose you and sent you out to produce fruit, the kind of fruit that will last. Then my Father will give you whatever you ask for in my name.

God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. That's why he sent Christ to make us what we are.

But the foundation that God has laid is solid. On it is written, “The Lord knows who his people are. So everyone who worships the Lord must turn away from evil.”

He gave himself to rescue us from everything that is evil and to make our hearts pure. He wanted us to be his own people and to be eager to do right.

But you are God's chosen and special people. You are a group of royal priests and a holy nation. God has brought you out of darkness into his marvellous light. Now you must tell all the wonderful things that he has done. The Scriptures say,

This shows that the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their sufferings and to punish evil people while they wait for the day of judgment.
