That same night the LORD sent an angel to the camp of the Assyrians, and he killed one hundred and eighty-five thousand of them. And so the next morning, the camp was full of dead bodies.

Then he prayed, “LORD, please help him to see.” And the LORD let the servant see that the hill was covered with fiery horses and flaming chariots all around Elisha.

When I asked for your help, you answered my prayer and gave me courage.

and with your powerful arm you protect me from every side.

Pray to me in time of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honour me.

God will command his angels to protect you wherever you go.

Do not ill-treat widows or orphans.

Before sunset you must return any coat taken as security for a loan,

God says, “I will stand guard to protect my temple from those who come to attack. I know what's happening, and no one will ill-treat my people ever again.”

Don't be cruel to any of these little ones! I promise you that their angels are always with my Father in heaven.

The poor man died, and angels took him to the place of honour next to Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried.

Angels are merely spirits sent to serve people who are going to be saved.
