We worship you, Lord, and we should always pray whenever we find out that we have sinned. Then we won't be swept away by a raging flood.

The LORD has chosen everyone who is faithful to be his very own, and he answers my prayers.

and you gave me a new song, a song of praise to you. Many will see this, and they will honour and trust you, the LORD God.

Your vicious waves have swept over me like an angry ocean or a roaring waterfall.

You will not be harmed, though thousands fall all around you.

You will ask for my help, but I won't listen; you will search, but you won't find me.

When you cross deep rivers, I will be with you, and you won't drown. When you walk through fire, you won't be burnt or scorched by the flames.

This is what the LORD says: I will answer your prayers because I have set a time when I will help by coming to save you. I have chosen you to take my promise of hope to other nations. You will rebuild the country from its ruins, then people will come and settle there.

Turn to the LORD! He can still be found. Call out to God! He is near.

You will look for me, but you won't find me. You cannot go where I am going.”

He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share that same comfort with others in trouble.

In the Scriptures God says, “When the time came, I listened to you, and when you needed help, I came to save you.” That time has come. This is the day for you to be saved.

But since I was worse than anyone else, God had mercy on me and let me be an example of the endless patience of Christ Jesus. He did this so that others would put their faith in Christ and have eternal life.

He taught us to give up our wicked ways and our worldly desires and to live decent and honest lives in this world.
