Why do you accuse me of horrible crimes and make me pay for sins I did in my youth?

Indeed, the wicked will die and go to their graves in the prime of life.

You bless those people who are honest and fair in everything they do.

Remember me, LORD, when you show kindness by saving your people.

“Don't let the LORD forgive the sins of his parents and his ancestors.

He was so cruel to the poor, homeless, and discouraged that they died young.

Please help me, LORD God! Come and save me because of your love.

Show your love for me, your servant, and teach me your laws.

Smile on me, your servant. Have pity and rescue me.

You are kind, God! Please have pity on me. You are always merciful! Please wipe away my sins.

Turn and come to my rescue. Show your wonderful love and save me, LORD.

Don't make us pay for the sins of our ancestors. Have pity and come quickly! We are completely helpless.

It was for my own good that I had such hard times. But your love protected me from doom in the deep pit, and you turned your eyes away from my sins.

But I wipe away your sins because of who I am. And so, I will forget the wrongs you have done.

I did this because of who I am. I refuse to be dishonoured or share my praise with any other god.

Don't be so furious or keep our sins in your thoughts for ever! Remember that all of us are your people.

We have rebelled against you just like our ancestors, and we are ashamed of our sins.”

“No longer will they have to teach one another to obey me. I, the LORD, promise that all of them will obey me, ordinary people and rulers alike. I will forgive their sins and forget the evil things they have done.”

Later, Jesus met the man in the temple and told him, “You are now well. But don't sin any more or something worse might happen to you.”

Beside the pool was a man who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
