My strength has dried up like a broken clay pot, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You, God, have left me to die in the dust.

Jesus knew that he had now finished his work. And in order to make the Scriptures come true, he said, “I am thirsty!”

I am worn out from crying, and my throat is dry. I have waited for you till my eyes are blurred.

The LORD will reward him with honour and power for sacrificing his life. Others thought he was a sinner, but he suffered for our sins and asked God to forgive us.

Enemies poisoned my food, and when I was thirsty, they gave me vinegar.

My heart is beating fast. I feel weak all over, and my eyes are red.

I told you the most important part of the message exactly as it was told to me. That part is: Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say.

But when you turn away, they are terrified; when you end their life, they die and rot.

Once again Jesus shouted, and then he died.

If you are cheerful, you feel good; if you are sad, you hurt all over.

Many of those who lie dead in the ground will rise from death. Some of them will be given eternal life, and others will receive nothing but eternal shame and disgrace.

Babies are so thirsty that their tongues are stuck to the roof of the mouth. Children go begging for food, but no one gives them any.

“What good will it do you if I am in the grave? Once I have turned to dust, how can I praise you or tell how loyal you are?

we humans would die and return to the soil.

Remember that you moulded me like a piece of clay. So don't turn me back into dust once again.

Abraham answered, “I am nothing more than the dust of the earth. Please forgive me, LORD, for daring to speak to you like this.

You will have to sweat to earn a living; you were made out of soil, and you will once again turn into soil.”

Why do you refuse to forgive? Soon you won't find me, because I'll be dead.

We each must die and disappear like water poured out on the ground. But God doesn't take our lives. Instead, he finds ways of bringing us back when we run away.

I am skin and bones— just barely alive.

I am sick at heart! Pain has taken its toll.
