May the LORD send help from his temple and come to your rescue from Mount Zion.

David told his troops, “You will have to go up through the water tunnel to get those Jebusites. I hate people like them who can't walk or see.” That's why there is still a rule that says, “Only people who can walk and see are allowed in the temple.” David captured the fortress on Mount Zion, then he moved there and named it David's City. The LORD is a mighty tower where his people can run for safety—

Sing, people of Zion! Celebrate the greatness of the holy LORD of Israel. God is here to help you.

If a messenger comes from a distant nation, you must say: “The LORD built Zion. Even the poorest of his people will find safety there.”
