David sang a song to the LORD after the LORD had rescued him from his enemies, especially Saul. These are the words to David's song:

You rescued me from enemies who were hateful and too powerful for me.

God is my hateful enemy, glaring at me and attacking with his sharp teeth.

With the LORD on my side, I will defeat all of my hateful enemies.

I am surrounded by trouble, but you protect me against my angry enemies. With your own powerful arm you keep me safe.

Help! They are chasing me, and they are too strong.
