Let your faithful people correct and punish me. My prayers condemn the deeds of those who do wrong, so don't let me be friends with any of them.

But before the prophet finished speaking, Amaziah interrupted and said, “You're not one of my advisers! Don't say another word, or I'll have you killed.” The prophet stopped. But then he added, “First you sinned and now you've ignored my warning. It's clear that God has decided to punish you!”

Let's ask the LORD to be kind to everyone who is good and completely obeys him.

You treat me to a feast, while my enemies watch. You honour me as your guest, and you fill my cup until it overflows.

Please be willing, Lord, to help the city of Zion and to rebuild its walls.

To accept correction is wise, to reject it is stupid.

Without good advice everything goes wrong— it takes careful planning for things to go right.

Don't be a fool and disobey your parents. Be clever! Accept correction.

Stupid fools learn good sense by seeing others punished; a sensible person learns by being corrected.

Listening to good advice is worth much more than jewellery made of gold.

The Law of the Lord is a lamp, and its teachings shine brightly. Correction and self-control will lead you through life.

Harsh correction is better than the songs of a fool.

Don't hold grudges. On the other hand, it's wrong not to correct someone who needs correcting.

But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who ill-treats you.

My friends, you are spiritual. So if someone is trapped in sin, you should gently lead that person back to the right path. But watch out, and don't be tempted yourself.

I correct and punish everyone I love. So make up your minds to turn away from your sins.
