The LORD kept his promise and made Solomon wise. Hiram and Solomon signed a treaty and never went to war against each other.

The LORD has chosen you to build a temple for worshipping him. Be confident and do the work you have been assigned.

But you must see that everything is done according to these plans. Be confident, and never be afraid of anything or get discouraged. The LORD my God will help you do everything needed to finish the temple, so it can be used for worshipping him.

And give Solomon the desire to obey your laws and teachings completely, and the desire to build the temple for which I have provided these gifts.

When I am in trouble, I pray,

I look to the hills! Where will I find help?

It made me glad to hear them say, “Let's go to the house of the LORD!”

Our LORD and our God, I turn my eyes to you, on your throne in heaven.

The LORD was on our side! Let everyone in Israel say:

Everyone who trusts the LORD is like Mount Zion that cannot be shaken and will stand for ever.

It seemed like a dream when the LORD brought us back to the city of Zion.

Please help the king to be honest and fair just like you, our God.

There he built his temple as lofty as the mountains and as solid as the earth that he had made to last for ever.

We make our own plans, but the LORD decides where we will go.

Here is something else I have learnt: The fastest runners and the greatest heroes don't always win races and battles. Wisdom, intelligence, and skill don't always make you healthy, rich, or popular. We each have our share of bad luck.

I even asked the guards patrolling the town, “Have you seen the one I love so much?”

Then I was found by the guards patrolling the town and guarding the wall. They beat me up and stripped off my robe.

I, the LORD, will protect it and always keep it watered. I will guard it day and night to keep it from harm.

You leaders of Israel should be watchdogs, protecting my people. But you can't see a thing, and you never warn them. Dozing and daydreaming are all you ever do.

Jerusalem, on your walls I have stationed guards, whose duty it is to speak out day and night, without resting. They must remind the LORD

Raise the signal flag and attack the city walls. Post more guards. Command soldiers to watch the city and set up ambushes. I have made plans to destroy Babylon, and nothing will stop me.

One messenger after another announces to the king, “Babylon has been captured!

And if Christ wasn't raised to life, our message is worthless, and so is your faith.

What matters isn't those who planted or watered, but God who made the plants grow.

I am afraid I have wasted my time working with you.

Instead, remember that the LORD your God gives you the strength to make a living. That's how he keeps the promise he made to your ancestors.

But someone found out about them and told the king of Jericho, “Some Israelite men came here tonight, and they are spies.”
