I also promise that my towns will prosper—Jerusalem will once again be my chosen city, and I will comfort the people of Zion.

The LORD saves the lives of his servants. Run to him for protection, and you won't be punished.

When I am in trouble, I pray,

Whenever these soldiers went to war against their enemies, they prayed to God and trusted him to help. That's why the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and East Manasseh defeated the Hagrites and their allies.

I look to the hills! Where will I find help?

God alone is the mighty rock that keeps me safe, and he is the fortress where I feel secure.

Sing, people of Zion! Celebrate the greatness of the holy LORD of Israel. God is here to help you.

It made me glad to hear them say, “Let's go to the house of the LORD!”

People of many nations will come and say, “Let's go up to the mountain of the LORD God of Jacob and worship in his temple.” The LORD will teach us his Law from Jerusalem, and we will obey him.

I have told you what to say, and I will keep you safe in the palm of my hand. I spread out the heavens and laid foundations for the earth. Now I say, “Jerusalem, your people are mine.”

Our LORD and our God, I turn my eyes to you, on your throne in heaven.

You, LORD, are the light that keeps me safe. I am not afraid of anyone. You protect me, and I have no fears.

I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion! With him were a hundred and forty-four thousand, who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.

So the angel told me to announce: I, the LORD All-Powerful, am very protective of Jerusalem.

Those the LORD has saved will live on Mount Zion and rule over Edom. Then the kingdom will belong to the LORD.

You are honest and merciful, and you teach sinners how to follow your path.

And when he did come, it was to lead you to have faith in God, who raised him from death and honoured him in a glorious way. That's why you have put your faith and hope in God.

Jerusalem, wake up! Stand up and be strong. Holy city of Zion, dress in your best clothes. Those foreigners who ruined your sacred city won't bother you again.

They will be eaten away like a moth-eaten coat. But my victory will last; my saving power will never end.

If a messenger comes from a distant nation, you must say: “The LORD built Zion. Even the poorest of his people will find safety there.”

The LORD is pleased only with those who worship him and trust his love.

The LORD was on our side! Let everyone in Israel say:

God is in that city, and it won't be shaken. He will help it at dawn.

Now those you have rescued will return to Jerusalem, singing on their way. They will be crowned with great happiness, never again to be burdened with sadness and sorrow.

Early the next morning, as everyone got ready to leave for the desert near Tekoa, Jehoshaphat stood up and said, “Listen my friends, if we trust the LORD God and believe what these prophets have told us, the LORD will help us, and we will be successful.”

Others will stumble and fall, but we will be strong and stand firm.

Nations rage! Kingdoms fall! But at the voice of God the earth itself melts.

I feel like a shaky fence or a sagging wall. How long will all of you attack and assault me?

God saves me and honours me. He is that mighty rock where I find safety.

Those crooks will disappear when a storm strikes, but God will keep safe all who obey him.

The LORD gives perfect peace to those whose faith is firm.

So always trust the LORD because he is for ever our mighty rock.
