I would rather obey you than have a thousand pieces of silver and gold.

They are worth more than the finest gold and are sweeter than honey from a honeycomb.

Your laws mean more to me than the finest gold.

It's much better to be wise and sensible than to be rich.

because they bring happiness like treasures taken in war.

What you receive from me is more valuable than even the finest gold or the purest silver.

They will always be my most prized possession and my source of joy.

Obeying your instructions brings as much happiness as being rich.

By your teachings, Lord, I am warned; by obeying them, I am greatly rewarded.

God blesses everyone who has wisdom and common sense.

Having wisdom is better than an inheritance.
