The jailer did not worry about anything, because the LORD was with Joseph and made him successful in all that he did.

When broken branches fall to the ground, women pick them up to feed the fire. But these people are so stupid that the God who created them will show them no mercy.

Tell those who obey God, “You're very fortunate— you will be rewarded for what you have done.”

They will spring up like grass or like willow trees near flowing streams.

The LORD will always guide you and provide good things to eat when you are in the desert. He will make you healthy. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water or like a stream that never runs dry.

They will be like trees growing beside a stream— trees with roots that reach down to the water, and with leaves that are always green. They bear fruit every year and are never worried by a lack of rain.

But the vine was already growing in fertile soil, where there was plenty of water to produce healthy leaves and large grapes.

Your mother was a vine growing near a stream. There was plenty of water, so she was filled with branches and with lots of fruit.

But this tree towered over those other trees, and its branches grew long and thick.

Fruit trees will grow all along this river and produce fresh fruit every month. The leaves will never dry out, because they will always have water from the stream that flows from the temple, and they will be used for healing people.

It's like a grove of palm trees or a garden beside a river. You are like tall aloe trees that the LORD has planted, or like cedars growing near water.

But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched and dried up, because they did not have enough roots.

and along the way he saw a fig tree. But when he came to it, he found only leaves and no figs. So he told the tree, “You will never again grow any fruit!” At once the fig tree dried up.

When it was harvest time, the owner sent some servants to get his share of the grapes.

The chief priests and leaders answered, “He will kill them in some horrible way. Then he will let his vineyard to people who will give him his share of grapes at harvest time.”

If you don't stay joined to me, you will be thrown away. You will be like dry branches that are gathered up and burnt in a fire.

The LORD your God is giving you the land, and he will make sure you are successful in everything you do. Your harvests will be so large that your storehouses will be full.

These people are filthy minded, and by their shameful and selfish actions they spoil the meals you eat together. They are like clouds blown along by the wind, but never bringing any rain. They are like leafless trees, uprooted and dead, and unable to produce fruit.

Then it flowed down the middle of the city's main street. On each side of the river are trees that grow a different kind of fruit each month of the year. The fruit gives life, and the leaves are used as medicine to heal the nations.
