They say hurtful things, and they lie to people who want to live in peace.

My friend turned against me and broke his promise.

Merciless enemies, LORD, are hiding and plotting, hoping to kill me. I have not hurt them in any way at all.

It's a mistake to make evil plans, but you will have loyal friends if you want to do right.

They are always thinking up something cruel and evil, and they stir up trouble.

those who make evil plans or are quick to do wrong,

Don't ill-treat widows or orphans or foreigners or anyone who is poor, and stop making plans to hurt each other.”

Don't ever plan evil things against others or tell lies under oath. I, the LORD, hate such things.
