When others are disgraced, God will clear their names in answer to your prayers.

Too much pride can put you to shame. It's wiser to be humble.

Showing respect to the LORD will make you wise, and being humble will bring honour to you.

Too much pride will destroy you.

You are better off being humble and poor than getting rich from what you take by force.

The wicked and the proud love trouble and keep begging to be hurt.

Pride leads to destruction; humility leads to honour.

Respect and serve the LORD! Your reward will be wealth, a long life, and honour.

At once an angel from the Lord struck him down because he took the honour that belonged to God. Later, Herod was eaten by worms and died.

He also gave you manna, a kind of food your ancestors had never even heard about. The LORD was testing you to make you trust him, so that later on he could be good to you.

All you young people should obey your elders. In fact, everyone should be humble towards everyone else. The Scriptures say, “God opposes proud people, but he helps everyone who is humble.”
