Honest correction is appreciated more than flattery.

Don't hold grudges. On the other hand, it's wrong not to correct someone who needs correcting.

If one of my followers sins against you, go and point out what was wrong. But do it in private, just between the two of you. If that person listens, you have won back a follower.

But when I saw that they were not really obeying the truth that is in the good news, I corrected Peter in front of everyone and said: Peter, you are a Jew, but you live like a Gentile. So how can you force Gentiles to live like Jews?

But if any of the leaders should keep on sinning, they must be corrected in front of the whole group, as a warning to everyone else.
