My child, show good sense! Then I will be happy and able to answer anyone who criticizes me.

Here are some proverbs of Solomon: Children with good sense make their parents happy, but foolish children make them sad.

Then I will have an answer for everyone who insults me for trusting your word.

I was very glad to learn that some of your children are obeying the truth, as the Father told us to do.

My friend, your love has made me happy and has greatly encouraged me. It has also cheered the hearts of God's people.

If you love wisdom your parents will be glad, but chasing after bad women will cost you everything.

Children with good sense make their parents happy, but foolish children are hateful to them.

Be wise, all you rulers, and pay close attention.

A lazy person says, “I am cleverer than everyone else.”

Be cautious and hide when you see danger— don't be stupid and walk right into trouble.
