Make fun of wisdom, and you will never find it. But if you have understanding, knowledge comes easily.

They are always successful, though they can't understand your teachings, and they keep sneering at their enemies.

That's why only someone who has God's Spirit can understand spiritual blessings. Anyone who doesn't have God's Spirit thinks these blessings are foolish.

Choose good instead of evil! See that justice is done. Perhaps I, the LORD All-Powerful, will be kind to what's left of your people.

I am the LORD, and I know your terrible sins. You cheat honest people and take bribes; you rob the poor of justice.

You people hate judges and honest witnesses;

together with everyone who tells lies in court and keeps innocent people from getting a fair trial.

Don't take advantage of the poor or cheat them in court.

Anyone with wisdom knows what makes good sense, but fools can never make up their minds.

All who are wise follow a road that leads upward to life and away from death.

If I have ever raised my arm to threaten an orphan when the power was mine,

and leaving their children helpless in court.

The more you have, the better off you will be, because they will protect you when your enemies attack with arguments.

It sounds strange for a fool to talk sensibly, but it's even worse for a ruler to tell lies.

Why should fools have money for an education when they refuse to learn?

Fools talk foolishness. They always make plans to do sinful things, to lie about the LORD, to let the hungry starve, and to keep water from those who are thirsty.

Criminals don't know what justice means, but all who respect the LORD understand it completely.

Her husband is a well known and respected leader in the city.
