You can tell what they are by what they do. No one picks grapes or figs from thorn bushes.

All crooks are liars, but anyone who is innocent will do right.

You have done wrong and lied from the day you were born.

Your son will be a great servant of the Lord. He must never drink wine or beer, and the power of the Holy Spirit will be with him from the time he is born.

I have sinned and done wrong since the day I was born.

Everyone who heard about this wondered what this child would grow up to be. They knew that the Lord was with him.
