But you must see that everything is done according to these plans. Be confident, and never be afraid of anything or get discouraged. The LORD my God will help you do everything needed to finish the temple, so it can be used for worshipping him.

Solomon, my son, worship God and obey him with all your heart and mind, just as I have done. He knows all your thoughts and your reasons for doing things, and so if you turn to him, he will hear your prayers. But if you ignore him, he will reject you for ever.

Let your faithful people correct and punish me. My prayers condemn the deeds of those who do wrong, so don't let me be friends with any of them.

Listen as I correct you and tell you what I think.

Respect and obey the LORD! This is the beginning of knowledge. Only a fool rejects wisdom and good advice.

Here are some proverbs of Solomon: Children with good sense make their parents happy, but foolish children make them sad.

Children with good sense accept correction from their parents, but stubborn children ignore it completely.

All who refuse correction will be poor and disgraced; all who accept correction will be praised.

Kind words are good medicine, but deceitful words can really hurt.

Good people become wealthy, but those who are evil will lose what they have.

Pay attention to advice and accept correction, so you can live sensibly.

Listening to good advice is worth much more than jewellery made of gold.

The Law of the Lord is a lamp, and its teachings shine brightly. Correction and self-control will lead you through life.

That is a true saying. And you should be hard on such people, so you can help them grow stronger in their faith.

Teach these things, as you use your full authority to encourage and correct people. Make sure you earn everyone's respect.
