If you obey God, you will have something to leave your grandchildren. If you don't obey God, those who live right will get what you leave.

And we were warned not to let our daughters and sons marry their sons and daughters. Your prophets also told us never to help those foreigners or even let them live in peace. You wanted us to become strong and to enjoy the good things in the land, then some day to leave it to our children for ever.

Every generation of those who serve you will live in your presence.

Their descendants will have great power in the land, because the LORD blesses all who do right.
