Ezra praised the great LORD God, and the people shouted, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed with their faces to the ground and worshipped the LORD.

I want everyone everywhere to lift innocent hands towards heaven and pray, without being angry or arguing with each other.

When we lift our hands in prayer to God in heaven, we should offer him our hearts and say,

and everyone believed. They bowed down and worshipped the LORD because they knew that he had seen their suffering and was going to help them.

Jehoshaphat bowed low to the ground and everyone worshipped the LORD.

He killed the firstborn sons of the Egyptians, but he saved our children from death.” After Moses finished speaking, the people of Israel knelt down and worshipped the LORD.

Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given us new life and a hope that lives on.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the spiritual blessings that Christ has brought us from heaven!

Suppose some strangers are in your worship service, when you are praising God with your spirit. If they don't understand you, how will they know to say, “Amen”?

Jesus walked on a little way. Then he knelt with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, don't make me suffer by making me drink from this cup. But do what you want, and not what I want.”

Keep us from being tempted and protect us from evil.

Hananiah, I hope the LORD will do exactly what you said. I hope he does bring back everything the Babylonians took from the temple, and that our people who were taken to Babylonia will be allowed to return home.

Think of my prayer as sweet-smelling incense, and think of my lifted hands as an evening sacrifice.

As long as I live, I will pray to you.

You, the LORD God of Israel, will be praised for ever! Amen and amen.

Please listen to my prayer and my cry for help, as I lift my hands towards your holy temple.

Then Hezekiah and his officials ordered the Levites to sing the songs of praise that David and Asaph the prophet had written. And so they bowed down and joyfully sang praises to the LORD.

and said: Praise the LORD God of Israel! He brought his people out of Egypt long ago and later kept his promise to make my father David the king of Israel. The LORD also promised him that Jerusalem would be the city where his temple will be built, and now that promise has come true.

Abram answered: The LORD God Most High made the heavens and the earth. And I have promised him

LORD God of Israel, you deserve to be praised for ever and ever.” After David finished, the people shouted, “Amen! Praise the LORD!”

After this, the Levites Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah went among the people, explaining the meaning of what Ezra had read.

Then, in front of everyone, David sang praises to the LORD: I praise you for ever, LORD! You are the God our ancestor Jacob worshipped.

So I have decided to renew our agreement with the LORD God of Israel. Perhaps then he will stop being so angry with us.

The LORD is the greatest God, king over all other gods.
