Who may stay in God's temple or live on the holy mountain of the LORD?

They lend their money without charging interest, and they don't take bribes to hurt the innocent. Those who do these things will always stand firm.

My heart tells me to pray. I am eager to see your face,

But each of you had better tremble and turn from your sins. Silently search your heart as you lie in bed.

Who will stand up for me against those cruel people?

In fact, I will get so angry that I will kill your men and make widows of their wives and orphans of their children.

Don't charge interest when you lend money to any of my people who are in need.

Lawbreakers praise criminals, but law-abiding citizens always oppose them.

Others of you accept money to murder someone. Your own people charge high interest when making a loan to other Israelites, and they get rich by cheating. Worst of all, you have forgotten me, the LORD God.

The LORD God said: You leaders of Israel have robbed and cheated my people long enough! I want you to stop sinning and start doing what is right and fair. You must never again force my people off their own land. I, the LORD, have spoken.

Be fair, no matter who is on trial—don't favour either the poor or the rich.

Don't take advantage of them by charging any kind of interest or selling them food for profit. Instead, honour me by letting them stay where they now live.

If the follower refuses to listen to them, report the matter to the church. Anyone who refuses to listen to the church must be treated like an unbeliever or a tax collector.

We are careful not to judge people by what they seem to be, though we once judged Christ in that way.

When Peter came to Antioch, I told him face to face that he was wrong.

But if any of the leaders should keep on sinning, they must be corrected in front of the whole group, as a warning to everyone else.

Teach these things, as you use your full authority to encourage and correct people. Make sure you earn everyone's respect.
