The kings and queens of those nations where they were raised will come and bow down. They will take care of you just like a slave taking care of a child. Then you will know that I am the LORD. You won't be disappointed if you trust me.”

But for now, I am sending enemies who will catch you like fish and hunt you down like wild animals in the hills and the caves.

Wolves and lambs will graze together; lions and oxen will feed on straw. Snakes will eat only dust! They won't bite or harm anyone on my holy mountain. I, the LORD, have spoken!

Be a spark that starts a fire causing water to boil. Then your enemies will know who you are; all nations will tremble because you are nearby.

The descendants of enemies who hated and ill-treated you will kneel at your feet. They will say, “You are Zion, the city of the LORD, the holy God of Israel.”

He will attack like a flood in a mighty storm. Nations in the west and the east will then honour and praise his wonderful name.

Now strong and cruel nations will fear and honour you.

Make the nations afraid and let them all discover just how weak they are.

Jonathan and the soldier stood at the bottom of the hill where the Philistines could see them. The Philistines said, “Look! Those worthless Israelites have crawled out of the holes where they've been hiding.” Then they yelled down to Jonathan and the soldier, “Come up here, and we will teach you a thing or two!” Jonathan turned to the soldier and said, “Follow me! They will settle everywhere—in the deep valleys and between the rocks, on every bush and all over the pasture land.
