God said, “I command light to shine!” And light started shining.

But Naaman stormed off, grumbling, “Why couldn't he come out and talk to me? I thought he would be sure to stand in front of me and pray to the LORD his God, then wave his hand over my skin and cure me.

Naaman walked down to the Jordan; he waded out into the water and stooped down in it seven times, just as Elisha had told him. Straight away, he was cured, and his skin became as smooth as a child's.

As soon as he spoke the world was created; at his command, the earth was formed.

“Put your hand back inside your shirt,” the LORD told him. Moses did so, and when he took it out again, it was as healthy as the rest of his body.

Then Jesus told the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man did, and it became as healthy as the other one.

Jesus felt sorry for the man. So he put his hand on him and said, “I want to! Now you are well.”

Jesus got up and ordered the wind and the waves to be quiet. The wind stopped, and everything was calm.

He took the twelve-year-old girl by the hand and said, “Talitha, koum!” which means, “Little girl, get up!” The girl got straight up and started walking around. Everyone was greatly surprised.

Jesus looked up towards heaven, and with a groan he said, “Effatha!” which means “Open up!”

When Jesus saw that a crowd was gathering fast, he spoke sternly to the evil spirit that had kept the boy from speaking or hearing. He said, “I order you to come out of the boy! Don't ever bother him again.”

During the time of the prophet Elisha, many men in Israel had leprosy. But no one was healed, except Naaman who lived in Syria.

Jesus put his hand on him and said, “I want to! Now you are well.” At once the man's leprosy disappeared.

Jesus went over and touched the stretcher on which the people were carrying the dead boy. They stopped, and Jesus said, “Young man, get up!”

When Jesus had finished praying, he shouted, “Lazarus, come out!”

I have done things that no one else has ever done. If they had not seen me do these things, they would not be guilty. But they did see me do these things, and they still hate me and my Father too.

Just as the Father raises the dead and gives life, so the Son gives life to anyone he wants to.
