I have not betrayed a friend or had pity on an enemy who attacks for no reason.

It's wise to be patient and show what you are like by forgiving others.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive these people! They don't know what they're doing.” While the crowd stood there watching Jesus, the soldiers gambled for his clothes. The leaders insulted him by saying, “He saved others. Now he should save himself, if he really is God's chosen Messiah!”

But I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you.

But Paul shouted, “Don't harm yourself! No one has escaped.”

He knelt down and shouted, “Lord, don't blame them for what they have done.” Then he died.

Ask God to bless everyone who ill-treats you. Ask him to bless them and not to curse them.

Don't be hateful to people, just because they are hateful to you. Rather, be good to each other and to everyone else.

Although he was abused, he never tried to get even. And when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he had faith in God, who judges fairly.

Don't be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you. Instead, treat everyone with kindness. You are God's chosen ones, and he will bless you. The Scriptures say,

and said: David, you're a better person than I am. You treated me with kindness, even though I've been cruel to you.
