When the soldiers had finished making fun of Jesus, they took off the robe. They put his own clothes back on him and led him off to be nailed to a cross.

The two liars came in and sat facing Naboth. Then they accused him of cursing God and the king, so the people dragged Naboth outside and stoned him to death.

He was painfully abused, but he did not complain. He was silent like a lamb being led to the butcher, as quiet as a sheep having its wool cut off.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell the people to take that man outside the camp and stone him to death!”

and then they will hand him over to foreigners who will make fun of him. They will beat him and nail him to a cross. But on the third day he will rise from death.

So they grabbed him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

“You know that two days from now will be Passover. That is when the Son of Man will be handed over to his enemies and nailed to a cross.”

Then Pilate handed Jesus over to be nailed to a cross. Jesus was taken away,

Then he said to the disciple, “She is now your mother.” From then on, that disciple took her into his own home.

and dragged him out of the city. Then they started throwing stones at him. The men who had brought charges against him put their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.

Jesus himself suffered outside the city gate, so that his blood would make people holy.
