Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you.

Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said: Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing for me.

and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.

You will always have the poor with you. And whenever you want to, you can give to them. But you won't always have me here with you.

My children, I will be with you for a little while longer. Then you will look for me, but you won't find me. I tell you just as I told the people, “You cannot go where I am going.”

In a little while the people of this world won't be able to see me, but you will see me. And because I live, you will live.

I came from the Father into the world, but I am leaving the world and returning to the Father.

But now I am going back to the Father who sent me, and none of you asks me where I am going.

Holy Father, I am no longer in the world. I am coming to you, but my followers are still in the world. So keep them safe by the power of the name that you have given me. Then they will be one with each other, just as you and I are one.

But Jesus must stay in heaven until God makes all things new, just as his holy prophets promised long ago.

They only asked us to remember the poor, and that was something I had always been eager to do.

There will always be some Israelites who are poor and needy. That's why I am commanding you to be generous with them.

If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot say we love God.
