A wife belongs to her husband instead of to herself, and a husband belongs to his wife instead of to himself.

As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother to get married, and he becomes like one person with his wife.”

Respect the LORD your God, serve only him, and make promises in his name alone.

Love the LORD your God and obey all the laws and teachings that I'm giving you today. If you live the way the LORD wants,

But all of you who were faithful to the LORD your God are still alive today.
