The Spirit of the LORD God has taken control of me! The LORD has chosen and sent me to tell the oppressed the good news, to heal the brokenhearted, and to announce freedom for prisoners and captives.

Heal the sick, raise the dead to life, heal people who have leprosy, and force out demons. You received without paying, now give without being paid.

After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he left and began teaching and preaching in the towns.

Which one of the sons obeyed his father? “The elder one,” the chief priests and leaders answered. Then Jesus told them: You can be sure that tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you ever will!

I tell you that God's kingdom will be taken from you and given to people who will do what he demands.

You Pharisees and teachers of the Law of Moses are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. You won't go in yourselves, and you keep others from going in.

He said, “Turn back to God! The kingdom of heaven will soon be here.”

Then Jesus started preaching, “Turn back to God! The kingdom of heaven will soon be here.”

The apostles left and started telling everyone to turn to God.

Until the time of John the Baptist, people had to obey the Law of Moses and the Books of the Prophets. But since God's kingdom has been preached, everyone is trying hard to get in.

Then he sent them to tell about God's kingdom and to heal the sick.

The apostles left and went from village to village, telling the good news and healing people everywhere.

Jesus answered, “Let the dead take care of the dead, while you go and tell about God's kingdom.”

One night he went to Jesus and said, “Sir, we know that God has sent you to teach us. You could not perform these miracles, unless God were with you.”

When Peter arrived, Cornelius greeted him. Then he knelt at Peter's feet and started worshipping him.

He bravely preached about God's kingdom and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ, and no one tried to stop him.

These men were angry because the apostles were teaching the people that the dead would be raised from death, just as Jesus had been raised from death.
