When people ill-treat you in one town, hurry to another one. I promise you that before you have gone to all the towns of Israel, the Son of Man will come.

The Son of Man will soon come in the glory of his Father and with his angels to reward all people for what they have done.

I promise you that some of those standing here will not die before they see the Son of Man coming with his kingdom.

After the wise men had gone, an angel from the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Hurry and take the child and his mother to Egypt! Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is looking for the child and wants to kill him.”

I will send prophets and wise people and experts in the Law of Moses to you. But you will kill them or nail them to a cross or beat them in your meeting places or chase them from town to town.

I can promise that you people living today will be punished for all these things!

The coming of the Son of Man will be like lightning that can be seen from east to west.

Then a sign will appear in the sky. And there will be the Son of Man. All nations on earth will weep when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

I can promise you that some of the people of this generation will still be alive when all this happens.

But suppose one of the servants thinks that the master won't return until late.

So, my disciples, always be ready! You don't know the day or the time when all this will happen.

“That is what you say!” Jesus answered. “But I tell all of you, ‘Soon you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right side of God All-Powerful and coming on the clouds of heaven.’ ”

When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he went to Galilee.

Then the Son of Man will be seen coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

He will hurry and help them. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find on this earth anyone with faith?

Then the Son of Man will be seen, coming in a cloud with great power and glory.

Jesus decided to leave Judea and to start going through Galilee because the Jewish leaders wanted to kill him.

That same night the Lord's followers sent Paul and Silas on to Berea, and after they arrived, they went to the Jewish meeting place.

Straight away the followers sent Paul down to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed in Berea.

When the riot was over, Paul sent for the followers and encouraged them. He then said goodbye to them and left for Macedonia.

Saul approved the stoning of Stephen. Some faithful followers of the Lord buried Stephen and mourned very much for him. At that time the church in Jerusalem suffered terribly. All the Lord's followers, except the apostles, were scattered everywhere in Judea and Samaria.
