Do something, LORD! They have broken your Law.

The earth is polluted because its people disobeyed the laws of God, breaking their agreement that was to last for ever.

The Lord has said: “These people praise me with their words, but they never really think about me. They worship me by repeating rules made up by humans.

This king will do as he pleases. He will proudly claim to be greater than any god and will insult the only true God. Indeed, he will be successful until God is no longer angry with his people.

“This king will speak evil of God Most High, and he will be cruel to God's chosen ones. He will try to change God's Law and the sacred seasons. And he will be able to do this for a time, two times, and half a time.

And you ignore God's commands in order to follow your own teaching. You do a lot of other things that are just as bad.

The Pharisees and many other Jewish people obey the teachings of their ancestors. They always wash their hands in the proper way before eating.

The Pharisees and teachers asked Jesus, “Why don't your disciples obey what our ancestors taught us to do? Why do they eat without washing their hands?”

Do we destroy the Law by our faith? Not at all! We make it even more powerful.

We told you about Jesus, and you received the Holy Spirit and accepted our message. But you let some people tell you about another Jesus. Now you are ready to receive another spirit and accept a different message.

I was a much better Jew than anyone else my own age, and I obeyed every law that our ancestors had given us.

I don't turn my back on God's undeserved kindness. If we can be acceptable to God by obeying the Law, it was useless for Christ to die.

He will boast and oppose everything that is holy or sacred. He will even sit in God's temple and claim to be God.
