There's no way a human can be completely pure.

But you forgive us, and so we will worship you.

But I wipe away your sins because of who I am. And so, I will forget the wrongs you have done.

The high priest then tore his robe and said, “This man claims to be God! We don't need any more witnesses! You have heard what he said.

Some teachers of the Law of Moses said to themselves, “Jesus must think he is God!”

You heard him claim to be God! What is your decision?” They all agreed that he should be put to death.

Some of the teachers of the Law of Moses were sitting there. They started wondering,

Straight away, Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said, “Why are you thinking such things?

The Pharisees and the experts began arguing, “Jesus must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins.”

Some other guests started saying to one another, “Who is this who dares to forgive sins?”

They answered, “We are not stoning you because of any good thing you did. We are stoning you because you did a terrible thing. You are just a man, and here you are claiming to be God!”

So why do you accuse me of a terrible sin for saying that I am the Son of God? After all, it is the Father who prepared me for this work. He is also the one who sent me into the world.
