Then Pilate questioned him again, “Don't you have anything to say? Don't you hear what crimes they say you have done?”

The high priest stood up and asked Jesus, “Why don't you say something in your own defence? Don't you hear the charges they are making against you?”

Pilate asked him, “Don't you hear what crimes they say you have done?”

The chief priests brought many charges against Jesus.

But Jesus did not answer, and Pilate was amazed.

“Why won't you answer my question?” Pilate asked. “Don't you know that I have the power to let you go free or to nail you to a cross?”
