Abraham's servant bowed down and thanked the LORD.

They answered, “Your servant our father is still alive and well.” And again they bowed down to Joseph.

But seven thousand Israelites have refused to worship Baal, and they will live.

If he took you to court, could you fool him, just as you fool others?

Rulers and judges gossip about me, and drunkards make up songs to mock me.

I have made a solemn promise, one that won't be broken: everyone will bow down and worship me.

I let them beat my back and pull out my beard. I didn't turn aside when they insulted me and spat in my face.

Many were horrified at what happened to him. But everyone who saw him was even more horrified because he suffered until he no longer looked human.

Jerusalem, enemy troops have surrounded you; they have struck Israel's ruler in the face with a stick.

Then they spat on him. They took the stick from him and beat him on the head with it.

who will make fun of him and spit on him. They will beat him and kill him. But three days later he will rise to life.

Some of the people started spitting on Jesus. They blindfolded him, hit him with their fists, and said, “Tell us who hit you!” Then the guards took charge of Jesus and beat him.

They made fun of Jesus and shouted, “Hey, you king of the Jews!”

When the soldiers had finished making fun of Jesus, they took off the purple robe. They put his own clothes back on him and led him off to be nailed to a cross.

Jesus answered: Elijah certainly will come to get everything ready. But don't the Scriptures also say that the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected?

The men who were guarding Jesus made fun of him and beat him.

Herod and his soldiers made fun of Jesus and insulted him. They put a fine robe on him and sent him back to Pilate.

The soldiers made fun of Jesus and brought him some wine.

But the Lord told Elijah, “I still have seven thousand followers who have not worshipped Baal.”

So at the name of Jesus everyone will bow down, those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

That's why we should go outside the camp to Jesus and share in his disgrace.
