Jesus and his disciples went to the town of Capernaum. Then on the next Sabbath he went into the Jewish meeting place and started teaching.

But instead of staying in Nazareth, Jesus moved to Capernaum. This town was beside Lake Galilee in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali.

Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in the Jewish meeting places and preaching the good news about God's kingdom. He also healed every kind of disease and sickness.

At once Jesus asked them to come with him. They left their father in the boat with the hired workers and went with him.

As soon as Jesus left the meeting place with James and John, they went home with Simon and Andrew.

In fact, the whole town gathered around the door of the house.

Then Jesus went to Jewish meeting places everywhere in Galilee, where he preached and forced out demons.

After Jesus left, he went to Judea and then on to the other side of the River Jordan. Once again large crowds came to him, and as usual, he taught them.

Jesus went back to Capernaum, and a few days later people heard that he was at home.

The next time that Jesus went into the meeting place, a man with a crippled hand was there.

The next Sabbath he taught in the Jewish meeting place. Many of the people who heard him were amazed and asked, “How can he do all this? Where did he get such wisdom and the power to perform these miracles?

People of Capernaum, do you think you will be honoured in heaven? Well, you will go down to hell!

One Sabbath, Jesus was teaching in a Jewish meeting place,

Jesus went back to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and as usual he went to the meeting place on the Sabbath. When he stood up to read from the Scriptures,

Jesus answered: You will certainly want to tell me this saying, “Doctor, first make yourself well.” You will tell me to do the same things here in my own home town that you heard I did in Capernaum.

So as usual, Paul went there to worship, and on three Sabbaths he spoke to the people. He used the Scriptures

Every Sabbath, Paul went to the Jewish meeting place. He spoke to Jews and Gentiles and tried to win them over.
