They will always be remembered and greatly praised, because they were kind and freely gave to the poor.

You, LORD God, bless everyone who cares for the poor, and you rescue those people in times of trouble.

Caring for the poor is lending to the LORD, and you will be well repaid.

But people who obey God are always generous.

The LORD blesses everyone who freely gives food to the poor.

Share what you have with seven or eight others, because you never know when disaster may strike.

Day and night I went without sleep, trying to understand what goes on in this world.

But I tell you not to try to get even with a person who has done something to you. When someone slaps your right cheek, turn and let that person slap your other cheek.

Forgive us for doing wrong, as we forgive others.

If you would only give what you have to the poor, everything you do would please God.

Sell what you have and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves money bags that never wear out. Make sure your treasure is safe in heaven, where thieves cannot steal it and moths cannot destroy it.

When Jesus heard this, he said, “There is one thing you still need to do. Go and sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower.”

If someone slaps you on one cheek, don't stop that person from slapping you on the other cheek. If someone wants to take your coat, don't try to keep back your shirt.

Treat others just as you want to be treated.

If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated.

By everything I did, I showed how you should work to help everyone who is weak. Remember that our Lord Jesus said, “More blessings come from giving than from receiving.”

You know that our Lord Jesus Christ was kind enough to give up all his riches and become poor, so that you could become rich.

If you are a thief, stop stealing. Be honest and work hard, so you will have something to give to people in need.
