Daniel heard about the law, but when he returned home, he went upstairs and prayed in front of the window that faced Jerusalem. In the same way that he had always done, he knelt down in prayer three times a day, giving thanks to God.

Jesus and his apostles went down from the mountain and came to some flat, level ground. Many other disciples were there to meet him. Large crowds of people from all over Judea, Jerusalem, and the coastal cities of Tyre and Sidon were there too.

When Jesus was alone praying, his disciples came to him, and he asked them, “What do people say about me?”

About eight days later Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up on a mountain to pray.

While he was praying, his face changed, and his clothes became shining white.

It was almost time for the Jewish festival of Passover, and Jesus went up on a mountain with his disciples and sat down.

Never give up praying. And when you pray, keep alert and be thankful.

God had the power to save Jesus from death. And while Jesus was on earth, he begged God with loud crying and tears to save him. He truly worshipped God, and God listened to his prayers.

“Saul has stopped obeying me, and I'm sorry that I made him king.” Samuel was angry, and he cried out in prayer to the LORD all night.
