Servants are fortunate if their master finds them awake and ready when he comes! I promise you that he will get ready and make his servants sit down so that he can serve them.

My friends, while you are waiting, you should make certain that the Lord finds you pure, spotless, and living at peace.

So be on your guard! You don't know when your Lord will come.

Your people will take the land, just as a young man takes a bride. The LORD will be pleased because of you, just as a husband is pleased with his bride.

The Lamb in the centre of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to streams of life-giving water, and God will wipe all tears from their eyes.”

Everyone who wins the victory will sit with me on my throne, just as I won the victory and sat with my Father on his throne.

If I live, it will be for Christ, and if I die, I will gain even more.

No, you wouldn't say that. You would say, “Prepare me something to eat. Get ready to serve me, so I can have my meal. Then later on you can eat and drink.”

Servants are fortunate if their master comes and finds them doing their job.

The LORD your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.”

just like those servants who wait up for their master to return from a wedding feast. As soon as he comes and knocks, they open the door for him.

Who do people think is the greatest, a person who is served or one who serves? Isn't it the one who is served? But I have been with you as a servant.

Remember that Christ says, “When I come, it will surprise you like a thief! But God will bless you, if you are awake and ready. Then you won't have to walk around naked and be ashamed.”
